Chatbot builder
We recommended to work in the builder from a computer. Some features may not be available from your phone or tablet. Work and save the project in one tab so as not to lose your changes.
The Start screen is automatically added when a new bot is created. It is the main screen and by default is executed first when the bot starts. To add a new screen, click the Add screen button.
Components can be added to the screen either by drag-and-drop or by double-clicking — select the desired screen and click on the component from the list you want to add.
The All screens section contains a list of all bot screens. The selected screen can be renamed, hidden, duplicated, or deleted. You can also perform group actions on screens. For example, select several screens or all of them at once, show or hide them, as well as copy or delete them. This is useful for working with bots that have many screens.
If two or more screens have the same name, these screens will be marked with an exclamation mark in the list.
You can search screens by name, text on the screens, screen id and name of the component that is on the screen.
The Screen section contains the settings for the selected screen and a list of all the components located on it. Components can be deleted, duplicated or moved around the screen.
You can open the selected screen in the messenger by copying and pasting a link to the screen into the browser bar.
At the bottom of Screen tab, you can see which screens have transitions and which events are configured on the screen. You can create a group for the screen by clicking Add button.
In the same section, you can add screens to existing groups.
You can copy the screen to another bot in the Copy to... section.
To copy the screen, select the desired bot and click OK.
You can also change the screen name by double-clicking on the screen name in the builder field and on the right pane in the list of screens.
To copy the screen name from the list of screens in the select, open the drop-down list of screens, select the screen whose name you want to copy and open the drop-down list. Then double-click in the field where the selected screen is displayed in light gray. After that, the name of the screen will be copied. This copying method can be used in all components that have dropdown lists.
The Components section contains a list of all components that can be used to create a bot. They are added to the screen by dragging and dropping. You can also double-click a component to mark it and then double-click to move it to the desired screen. The component card indicates on which platforms it work.
When you click on a component, the Component's properties opens. In the сomponent's properties, you can make changes to the settings of the components located on this screen.
Using the Shift key and mouse buttons combination, you can copy components from one screen to another. All types of copying work both copying within the same tab of the bot editor as well as between different tabs. You can copy a component in one tab, switch to another one, and paste it there. It works both with the same bot and with different bots.
To copy all the components from the screen and save their properties, hover over the screen you want to copy.
Then press and hold the Shift key and right-click.
If everything is done correctly, the screen outline will change color from blue to yellow for a few seconds. It means that all components from this screen have been copied to the clipboard with their properties preserved.
After that, hover over the screen where you want to insert copies of the components. Press and hold the Shift key, then left-click. If everything is done correctly, copies of all the components will appear at the bottom of the screen you clicked on.
To copy the properties of one component to another component or the component itself to another screen, hover over the desired component.
Press and hold the Shift key, then right-click.
If everything is done correctly, the component will be highlighted in yellow at the edges, which means the component has been successfully copied.
To insert properties on another component or the component itself on another screen, hover over the desired component or screen.
Then press and hold the Shift key and simultaneously left-click. After that, the properties will be copied to the selected component or the copied component will appear at the bottom of the screen.
For example, you can copy all the values of the Request component and paste them into the request that has already been placed elsewhere.
To copy one button from one button component to another or one Fork Goal to another Fork, hover over the button or fork goal you want to copy.
Then press and hold the Shift key and right-click.
If everything is done correctly, the button or Fork Goal will be highlighted in yellow, which will mean successful copying.
To insert a button or Fork Goal, hover over the desired component (buttons or fork) and press Shift, then left-click.
The properties are copied exactly if the component is the same. For example, if you copy User Input properties to another User Input.
If you copy properties between different components, copying will be slightly different. For example, if you copy properties from the Message component to the Buttons or Buttons with Hints component, the text from Message will be transferred to the text before the buttons, but the buttons themselves will remain unchanged.
If you copy properties from Buttons to a Message, the text before the buttons will be transferred to the Message text.
The hotkey functions are available through buttons in the proplist:
- Copy copies the component or its properties to the clipboard.
- Paste inserts the properties of a component into another component.
- Paste before ↑ inserts a component above the selected component.
- Paste after ↓ inserts a component below the selected component.
The Minimap is at the bottom left corner of the page.
- Using the "+", "-" buttons and the slider at the bottom of the minimap, you can adjust the screen scale.
- The minimap is hidden and revealed using the "Hide minimap" or "Show minimap" buttons.
- By pushing the minimap to the maximum, you can see all the screens created in the bot.
- In the minimap, screens are schematically indicated by light blue rectangles. The highlighted screen on the minimap turns blue.
- Clicking on an area of the minimap moves the focus to that area. The focus shift can also be seen on the minimap.
Use the Menu on the left side of the screen to go to any section of the bot, return to the home page or open the knowledge base.
Make sure you save all your changes in the bot. To do this, use the Save button.
